Christaan Felber (b. Los Angeles, California) received his BFA in photographic studies from the Rochester of Technology and has worked for over a decade as a photographer in New York City. His photographs have a strong sense of narrative and authenticy that capture a common humanity in subjects ranging from celebrities and models to soldiers and prison inmates. His work has regularly graced the pages of The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, Rolling Stone, Esquire, GQ and many others. His commercial clients include brands such as Nike, Apple, Puma, The North Face, and Google. He was named one of the Top 30 Emerging Photographers by Photo District News and has been the recipient of several awards including the American Photo Awards four years in a row and was most recently listed as one of the ‘ArtDesk 100: one hundred favorite creators, thinkers and voices’ in The New York Times in 2023.
Christaan also has experience shooting alongside motion as well as directing. His first documentary, "From Heaven is Cali" premiered on Nowness and was featured worldwide in over sixteen film festivals including Brooklyn Film Festival, Big Apple Film Festival, Santa Fe Film Festival, Manchester Film Festival and has received several awards including Best Cinematography, Best Short and Best Documentary.
Christaan splits his time between New York City, Los Angeles and Mexico City.
